Project Muse have launched their new platform which isn't quite finished yet. Features are being added over the next few weeks.
Most relevant to TCD is that the 'Export Citations' function is not installed yet. They have supplied this work-around :
"You create a text document and import the text into EndNote. The citation in EndNote format is available on each article page. See View Citation on the right side bar on the article page. Click on the EndNote tab, copy the citation and paste in a text document. Import the text document with all the citations into Endnote."
Otherwise, all links from the catalogue, etc., should work as expected. Please let Clíona know at once if they don't.

Web of Knowledge training - 19th May 2009 - Preliminary announcement
This is a preliminary announcement about a Web of Knowledge training session being planned for May 19th.
Guillaume Rivalle will be giving two training sessions on Tuesday, 19th May 2009 in the Library Training Rooms.
The details of each session are being finalised with the trainer, but it is envisaged that the morning will be a general session and the afternoon will be more specific.
The topics covered will be WoS, DII, Endnote Web, RID, JCR and ESI.
The sessions will be open to all interested parties and further details will be posted as soon as they are known.

Endnote training
EndNote is a bibliographic reference software that can help you to store, manage, organise and format bibliographic references for use in your research papers and publications. It enables the automatic creation and formatting of citations and bibliographies.
A number of 2-hour training sessions entitled, "A Beginners Guide to EndNote XI for PC" is scheduled. Places are allocated on a first-come basis and are limited to 18 participants per session. Participants are expected to have basic IT skills and knowledge of using Word and databases.
Location: South Training Room, Berkeley Basement, Berkeley Library.

When registering, follow these steps.
1. Log in, or create a login if this is your first visit (please note, your tcd username and password is not valid on this site)
2. Choose from schedule which course you wish to attend.
3. Register and fill in all details.
4. Now reserve a place on the course.
5. If the reservation has been successful, you will receive a confirmation e-mail.
6. 1 day before the course you will be sent a reminder.

Scopus
Following on the Scopus trial which ended in December 2007, TCD Library now has a subscription to Scopus (Elsevier).
Scopus is an abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature and web sources covering more than 15,000 peer-reviewed journals in science, technology, medicine and social sciences.
Coverage 1966-
Cited reference searching 1996 -
Subject Coverage: - by number of source titles that are used [Scopus Info web site]:
Life Sciences >3,400 titles
Health Sciences > 5,300 titles (including 100% coverage of Medline titles)
Physical Sciences > 5,500 titles
Social Sciences > 2,850 titles
Scopus offers citation searching - as ISI's Web of Science has been doing -
therefore researchers can demonstrate the impact of their own publications by identifying citations to their work in the titles indexed in Scopus.
