ScienceDirect and Scopus upgrade, Dec. 1, 2012

ScienceDirect and Scopus are planning a new release. scheduled for Saturday, December 1, 2012 EST. This will extend their full internet browser coverage to include Google Chrome and Safari. During this scheduled maintenance, there may be minor disruptions to some ScienceDirect and Scopus functionality.

American Society of Mechanical Engineers, ASME : New platform

American Society of Mechanical Engineers, ASME  is due to move to a new platform in December 2012.


The ASME Digital Library will be moving to a new platform (SCM6) hosted by Silverchair Information Systems (SIS) and will be known as the ASME Digital Collection.

ATLA Religion Database® and ATLASerials® (ATLAS®)

Advance notice: 
 ATLA Religion Database® and ATLASerials® (ATLAS®) are currently hosted on the Ovid platform.
ATLA’s contract with Ovid officially ends in mid-2013.  Ovid will not be hosting ATLA’s products after mid-2014. The databases are moving to EBSCOhost and are accessible there already. You can see what they look like by following this link.

CISNet have moved to IEEE

Over 440 MIT press E-Book titles, formerly hosted on CISNet have now moved to the IEEE platform.
The full list of MIT titles on the IEEE platform.
The links in the TCD catalogue to the titles on the old platform still work, the individual E-Book title links to the new platform will be updated as soon as possible.

SpringerLink migration to new platform

TCD Springerlink account has migrated to a new platform. Users are automatically redirected to the new platform - link.springer.com. 
Please let Clíona or Arlene know if you have any problems accessing material.

In the event that you have maintained direct links to specific eBook Collections on SpringerLink, these will need to be updated. The new navigation of the site requires this. A list of these updated links is on springer.com/librarians.  

Individual Accounts: Unfortunately no individual accounts - My SpringerLink - will be migrated. This means that if your users have set up their own account on springerlink.com, their account will be lost. Due to privacy reasons we are unable to reach out to them, so we are asking your kind assistance in informing them.

For your convenience, we have prepared a sample letter that you could send to your patrons. This letter is on springer.com/librarians.
